Sam Funt selected to Best Lawyers in America and Georgia Super Lawyers for 2027

Partner Samantha J. Funt has been selected to two 2027 lists in the same week: The Best Lawyers in America, for Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs, and Georgia Super Lawyers.

Best Lawyers recognized Ms. Funt in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for her work in Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs. Recognition there is decided by peer review rather than paid placement or self-nomination, and no fee is required to be considered, a process the company has used since it began publishing in 1981. The 2027 United States edition was published on August 20.

Super Lawyers selected her to the 2027 Georgia list the following day. No more than 5% of attorneys in the state receive the distinction in a given year. It is her first selection to the main Georgia list; she was named to Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2022.

Both lists reach the same conclusion from different directions, which is the part worth noting. Ms. Funt tries wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and medical negligence cases, and maintains an active federal civil rights practice holding government officials to account. She spent five years defending injury and premises cases at a national firm before moving to the plaintiff side, and began her career as an assistant public defender in Miami-Dade County. She also sits as a neutral on the Henning Mediation panel.
