Richard C. Mitchell
Personal injury, medical malpractice, aviation and trucking
Richard C. Mitchell is Of Counsel with Mitchell Shapiro Greenamyre & Funt LLP. He concentrates on personal injury and medical malpractice matters, including trucking and auto wrecks and aviation crashes. He has held Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating, the highest professional rating, for 20 consecutive years.
Mr. Mitchell was an associate and partner with Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy for over 14 years before leaving in 1997 to co-found Mitchell & Shapiro LLP (the predecessor of Mitchell Shapiro Greenamyre & Funt LLP) with Kenneth A. Shapiro. During that time, he represented numerous manufacturers and insurers in product liability cases, including manufacturers of automobiles, aircraft and aircraft components, forklifts, woodworking machinery, chemicals, conveyor belts, and electric limit switches. He left the large firm in order to concentrate on representing injured individuals. His years defending personal injury cases and working with insurance companies have given him insight into how the other side values and defends these cases. He is a veteran of more than 200 trials, arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Mitchell has been a frequent speaker at seminars and has authored chapters in several treatises and legal articles.
